The LFA 6-Inch Technical Gym Short

Most training shorts use four panels. This one uses more than eight. The additional panel count plus a full inner-leg flex gusset is what gives the short its structured line and unrestricted range of motion.

Most training shorts are four panels. The Odyssey Black short is more than eight. Double the standard count, with a flex gusset spanning the full inner leg. That additional structure is why it holds a considered, square line instead of hanging flat from the waistband.

The inseam is six inches, fifteen centimetres from crotch seam to hem. It sits just above the quad teardrop. Long enough that nothing catches at the knee during a clean pull or a box jump. Short enough that hip flexion is never restricted at the bottom of a heavy squat. Most brands choose a side, building for shorter builds or for taller ones. The panel count here does the work inseam length alone cannot, which is why this one holds its proportion across builds.

The waistband is flat elastic with a centred drawcord. No external bulk, no cord migrating to one side by the third set. It ties once and stays put through a deadlift session, a run, and whatever comes after.

Pockets are integrated zip, sitting flush with the fabric when closed. No pocket outline visible from outside. No pouch catching on a barbell or a pull-up bar during movement.

Fabric is 95% polyester, 5% spandex at 130 GSM, 4-way stretch. It recovers in every direction and holds the Absolute Black through the full range. There is no liner. That is a decision: built for use with compression shorts or briefs for maximum range and maximum airflow.

Available in S through XXL. R799. Made in South Africa.

Questions

What inseam length is best for training?
Six inches balances freedom of movement with adequate quad coverage. It clears the knee joint during deep squats and clean pulls without the restriction that longer inseams create at the hip.
Why does panel count matter in gym shorts?
More panels allow more precise shaping. A four-panel short hangs flat because there is not enough structure to hold a considered line. More than eight panels gives the short a tailored, square silhouette that holds its shape under movement rather than collapsing.
Does the LFA short have a liner?
No liner. Built for use with compression shorts or briefs for maximum range of motion and airflow.
What fabric are the LFA shorts made from?
95% polyester, 5% spandex at 130 GSM, 4-way stretch. Holds opaque Absolute Black across the full stretch range.
Where are LFA shorts made and what do they cost?
The LFA 6-Inch Technical Gym Short is made in South Africa and retails at R799, available in S through XXL.
